[Electric drill maintenance] How to maintain an electric drill Electric drill maintenance and maintenance skills sharing
What is an electric drill
Electric drill is a drilling tool that uses electricity as power. It is a conventional product in power tools and the most in demand power tool product.
The main specifications of electric drills are 4, 6, 8, 10, 13, 16, 19, 23, 32, 38, 49mm, etc. The numbers refer to the maximum diameter of the drill bit drilled on steel with a tensile strength of 390N/mm2. The maximum drilling diameter for non-ferrous metals, plastics and other materials can be 30-50% larger than the original specifications.
Electric drill products used in the home (called DIY abroad) have low requirements for service life, work efficiency, and processing accuracy, and the number of products is large, accounting for about 70~80% of the total number of electric drill products; another 30~20% Electric drill products are professional tools, that is, products commonly called "industrial power tools" in China, which have higher technical requirements, including processing accuracy, reliability of use (such as failure time, number of damages), service life, and performance level (Such as torque, coaxiality) and so on are higher than household products.
Double insulation technology provides a safe, reliable, and advanced insulation structure to prevent electric shock accidents for the use of hand-held power tools. It is the development trend of power tool safety technology.
Maintenance method of electric drill:
Loosen a few self-tapping screws or screws outside the electric drill. Lay it flat and open half of the shell to see what's inside. Generally, the structure of a new-style electric hand drill is semi-embedded, that is, all mechanical and electrical components are installed in the other half of the housing. Carefully remove the carbon brush first, then the drill chuck end, and then gently lift the motor to take out the rotor (do not scratch the enameled wire), wipe off the commutator on the rotor (the one in contact with the carbon brush), if it is too dirty Or the wear is severe, you can sand it with emery cloth and then sand with water or metallographic sandpaper until it is bright. If the front and rear bearings of the rotor are sealed, they can be wiped clean. If the seal is broken, they should be replaced in time. Clean the spiral gear shaft in front of the rotor, clean the oil inside the shell, clean the helical gear and the bearings (or bushings) at both ends of the drill chuck rod, and install the removed stuff back. Install the rotor first; then install the drill chuck rod helical gear; install the carbon brush, if the carbon brush is shorter than 7-8 mm, replace it in time. The carbon brush should be installed and flattened. Finally, find a little bit of grease to add between the gear pair and the bearing (or bushing). All parts should be installed and flattened. The other half can be covered after the check is correct. Tighten the screws and use your hands. Only when the rotation feels no stuck, the power can be turned on.
